PAPSS Pathways Mentoring Program

Thank you for your interest in serving as a mentor for the Pre-Academic Program for SENACYT Scholars! We collectively have a significant role in the retention of PAPSS Scholars. For consistent support, each mentor works closely with the Program Coordinator and PAPSS Pathway mentoring team.

PAPSS Pathway Peer Mentor

Provides mentoring services to PAPSS Scholars during Phase I and II at the University of Arkansas. PAPSS mentors must meet all requirements as outlined below.

PAPSS Pathway Mentoring Requirements

  1. Must be a University of Arkansas student in good standing (3.0 Cumulative GPA or Higher)
  2. Must be able fulfill a commitment of one year from students acceptance to the PAPSS program (not including summers) as a peer mentor.
  3. Must be available for new student arrival and orientation the week before classes begin.

PAPSS Pathway Mentoring Expectations

  1. Participate in PAPSS Mentorship Training
  2. Participate in monthly PAPSS Retention Team meetings to provide input on program priorities and direction
  3. Participate in welcome reception and recognition ceremonies
  4. Have one contact per week (face-to-face, email, web collaborate) with student mentee
  5. Adhere to university policies in implementing the PAPSS Pathway Mentoring program
  6. Must submit documentation showing weekly meetings
  7. Serve as an Ambassador for new incoming students during Arrival days and times

PAPSS Pathway Mentoring Expectations

Compensation- Each mentor will receive a semester book stipend of $160.00 per mentee (having met all mentor expectations)

PAPSS Pathway Mentor Application

You can submit the PAPSS Mentor  Application at anytime. Applications will be reviewed upon the selection of new PAPSS students.
